Right to Information (RTI) is an Act. amended for smooth functioning of the Institutions and we, the authority of Govt. General Degree College, Lalgarh, Jhargram, are following the guideline as Per RTI Act, 2005. Under the state of W.B. Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal, the authority recommended to deploy one Officer as state public information officer (SPIO) of the College. Following the guidelines and RTI Act, 2005 rules and regulations, our institute constituted one SPIO for the Govt. General Degree College, Lalgarh, Jhargram. The structure has two layered working officers i.e. appellate authority and SPIO. These officers will work under the custody of Institutional Head, Principal of the College or Officer-in-Charge of the College.  If one needs to get any kind of Official information, one can appeal to the appellate authority as per the rules of RTI Act. 2005. During submission of a written query he or she should appeal to the authority along with requisite fees (need pay Rs. 2/- per query and should be deposited in the Govt. treasury mentioning proper reasons). In such a case, challan or deposit fee slip has to be produced using the appeal through non-judicial stamp paper valued as Rs. 10.  Therefore, to know the information of Appellate authority and SPIO of Govt.
